Belladonna Designs is a one-mom operation, I hand paint and dye wool yarn in my small home studio in Pennsylvania. Every skein is dyed with care, when you buy a pair they were wound and dyed as one and match throughout in color & pattern. There's no need to alternate skeins or attempt to blend after the fact. I use professional acid dyes and take care to properly heat set them. Depending on your water quality you may have a tiny bit of color bleeding in the first wash, this is normal. Please use a gentle wool wash or shampoo to hand wash your hand knits and allow them to air dry. This will extend the life of your garments & prevent fulling. Sock yarns are all machine washable but they will last much longer if hand laundered.

I am open for wholesale & group order opportunities and can provide references of my past orders. I'm also available for individual custom dyeing orders.

I now have my own line of yarn available exclusively at BDD. "Dragon" is a light bulky 2-ply 80/20 Corriedale/merino blend humanely raised on a small PA farm. It's not your typical small farm wool, it's thick, silky & soft. Great for soakers, quick knit sweaters, hats, blankets, felted bags & more.
"Merlin" is a 3-ply superwash merino fingering sock yarn that takes color beautifully. Not just for socks! You can use sock yarn for many things, lacy scarves, hats, gloves & mittens, baby clothes, booties, you name it :)
